Happy Christmas/New year - Good Stuff From 2008

So Christmas is upon us, and before we sign off and shut down for the festive period we have a few things we would like say. Firstly thanks to anyone that bought and Inhaler cd, merch or came to a show in 2008. We do this purely out of love and put an immense amount of time and effort into what we do here, so thanks for responding to that and supporting a little known DIY label from Doncaster!

Thanks to the bands that have worked so VERY VERY hard to get out there and spread the word, all of these bands have lives and commitments outside of music, but i can honestly say that i never hear any of them moan about jumping in a van on a week night or at weekends to drive hundreds of miles to play a half hour set for a payment that sometimes does not even cover their petrol money.

Extra special thanks to Above Them for being absolute legends, and three of the nicest lads that we have ever had the pleasure of meeting, watch out for their split single with The Wireless Stores in 2009, which will be released through Nottingham based Field Records...and hopefully an Inhaler released debut album. Fingers crossed.

We have had much to enjoy in 2008, probably too much to mention; but things such as the release of the ep 'Put Your Heart Into This' by Above Them and the amazing reception it received, 13 out of 13 from Room 13!! Henry from Little City Pr who handles our press said he had never ever seen that before! Their appearance at Offset Festival was a highlight too, despite our severe hangovers and sound problems. What made this extra special was that we were joined by members of Lines In Sand along with pals such as Fake DIY/Rocksound journalist Ruth Offord and Recording studio owner and world class sound man Steve Ellis...good times. Getting to know/Hearing Lines In Sand for the first time and also getting the added bonus of them agreeing on releasing an album and a single with us in 2009 was also a high point for us.
Non-Inhaler related stuff we have enjoyed were things like the Drowned In Sound night at The Harley in Sheffield, featuring Pulled Apart By Horses and Dananackroyd. Absolutely electric atmosphere and two stunning bands at the top of their game.

The Hear>You >Me zine and blogspot also amused me no end and i found myself attempting to evade the internet police at work to log on for my daily fix. The Gaslight Anthem album has been piped into my ears 24 hours a day since it's release, also catching up with a show stealing Tellison at The Leadmill, Sheffield was a fine thing indeed, but nothing compared (and i mean nothing) with seeing Stapleton at The Packhorse in Leeds for what i fear may be the last time we ever hear them live again, an hour and a half of classic songs spanning all their years together... true legends.

So, an eventful year all round. Looking forward to 2009. Thanks for your support.
